The Bronzeville Children’s Museum, the first and only African American children’s museum in the nation, is set to celebrate Black History Month with a special event honoring Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. The museum, which has been educating and inspiring young minds for 27 years, invites the community to join in the celebration on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 9301 South Stony Island Avenue in Chicago.
For just $5.00 per person—free for museum members—attendees will experience a vibrant afternoon filled with music, singing, crafts, storytelling, and other engaging activities designed to educate and empower children about Black history. This year’s honoree, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, made history as the first Black woman to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court, continuing the legacy of trailblazers who shattered racial barriers in the legal system. The program will highlight her achievements and those of a local woman judge to encourage youth.
The Bronzeville Children’s Museum, founded to celebrate the contributions of African Americans through interactive exhibits and educational programs, remains a vital institution for shaping the cultural awareness of young learners. By hosting events like this, the museum continues its mission to highlight Black excellence and inspire the next generation of leaders.
