The lucky player purchased a winning ticket matching five numbers in the Feb. 25 Mega Millions drawing to score the $1 million prize. The winning numbers were: 4-8-11-32-52.
The winning ticket was purchased at Tony’s Fresh Market near Chicago’s Portage Park neighborhood, located at 4608 West Belmont Ave.
For selling the winning ticket, Tony’s Fresh Market on W. Belmont Ave. in Chicago will receive one percent of the prize amount, or $10,000.
So far this year, over 350,000 winning Mega Millions tickets have been sold in Illinois, with total prizes amounting to more than $2.4 million for Illinois Lottery players.
The lucky winner has one year from the date of the winning draw to claim their prize. The Illinois Lottery encourages the winner to write their name on the back of their winning ticket and keep it in a safe place until they’re ready to claim their prize.
The current Mega Millions jackpot is an estimated $197,000,000 and the next drawing is tonight, Friday, Feb. 28 at 10 p.m. CT.
Mega Millions tickets are $2 each, and players can add the Megaplier for an additional $1 for the chance to multiply non-jackpot prizes.
