Adult Learning Cooperative holds commencement ceremony

The Adult Learning Cooperative (ALC) hosted its annual High School Equivalency Graduation Ceremony at the Gary Area Career Center on Friday, July, 29. Seven adult graduates from Northwest Indiana completed the state requirements to receive their high school diploma through WDS, Inc. – Adult Learning Cooperative.

“These students have worked at different levels and at different paces, but they all completed their goal,” said Denise Dillard of the WDS Group, Inc. “That’s the great thing about our program; the teachers and the program are here to support and help anyone.”

More than half of the graduates from the program will continue to work with WDS, Inc., through the Career Connection program. Career Connection provides postsecondary opportunities, offering scholarships to higher learning institutions and/or career options through internship programs, apprentice programs, and paid job shadowing experiences.
