ACCESS Blue Island Family Health Center holds health fair

ACCESS Blue Island Family Health Center invites the entire community to stop by its Summer Community Health Fair at 13000 Maple Ave., Blue Island, Illinois, on Saturday, July 29th, from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

We invite community members to learn more about the resources in the community and parents to prepare their children for the upcoming school year with back-to-school physicals. Children will receive free school supplies (while quantities last) and free food and entertainment. Adults can also receive free blood pressure screenings. ACCESS’ dental partner Sonrisa Dental will offer dental screenings.

Also during the health fair, women will be able to get breast health information and referrals for required Pap smears and mammograms. ACCESS’ benefits specialists will be on hand to enroll new patients into Medicaid, All Kids and Illinois Marketplace insurance plans. Community members can learn about treatment and support services for substance use disorders* and participate in interactive exercise demonstrations. There will also be representatives providing valuable community resources.

*Support for this health fair is provided in part by the Great Lakes Addiction Technology Transfer Center (HHS Region 5) at the Jane Addams College of Social Work, University of Illinois at Chicago.
