Jonathan Portis will sponsor and host “An Evening of Gospel” at the Glen Theater, 20 West Ridge Road, on Saturday, May 27 at 5 p.m. The concert will feature Diane Williams, Stellar Gospel Award Winner known for “Jesus Can Work It Out,” “Make Me Better Lord” and the dynamic quartet group, the Douglas Singers. Also on program will be local soloists, groups and choirs including Ce Ce & Company, Kimberly Jones-Payne, the First Tabernacle Choir, Ntricate, Soul Six, Miracle Hightower, New Life Outreach Youth Choir and others.
Portis said proceeds from the event will be used to sponsor youth activities. Tickets are $10 and are available at Beautiful Things in the Village Shopping Mall or by calling 290-7762 or 887-2046. The admission at the door is $15. VIP tickets are available for $25 and will include front row seats, refreshments, and an opportunity to meet the featured guests.
