8th Annual Film Festival to be held at Glen Theatre for two days

During Black History Month, the Glen Theatre will host a series of independent films during the 8th Annual Film Festival hosted by Gary Native and Hollywood actor William L. Johnson. The 2-day cultural event will present two feature films and a series of shorter pieces.

Screenings will begin on Friday, February 15 and continue through Saturday, February 16, 2019. The Glen Theater is located at 20 W. Ridge Road in Gary. The line-up for each day is as follows:

Friday, February 15, 6:30 p.m.  Opening night will begin with a Meet and Greet Reception followed by the feature film, “Perfectly Single.” Four short films will begin with “Living,” “What If,” “Until Then” and “The Reckoning.”

Saturday, February 16, 7 p.m.  The evening’s films begin with the feature, “Beyond the Silence” then followed by the short films: “Asia A.,” “Keeping David,” “Pure Justice” and “Letting Go.”

Local underwriters are the Gary Chapter of the NAACP, NIPSCO, South Shore Arts, the Indiana Arts Commission and the Majestic Star Casino.

Tickets to the Friday and Saturday evening events are as follows: Friday and Saturday combo, $30 advance, Friday, $20 or $25 at the door and Saturday, $15 or $20 at the door.
