This year’s event will feature exciting games, giveaways, and resources for young people.
“Out of all the investments we have fought for, it is our investments in our young people that I am most proud of because I know they will have the biggest impact,” said Mayor Brandon Johnson. “Our annual Teen Bash is an opportunity for us to show our young people that our city is for them. We are connecting young people with resources and engaging them with fun activities.”
This year’s celebration will feature a resource fair for teens, local youth performers, and interactive activities designed to promote youth development and connect teens to local opportunities for personal growth, learning, and engagement. The event includes two main components:
1. Teen Resource Expo (12:00–2:00 PM): A hub where teens can connect with youth focused resources, leadership programs and work opportunities.
2. Teen Bash (1:00–4:00 PM): An exciting lineup of performances, DJs, video games, art activities, skateboarding, food, and more.
“DFSS is excited to partner again on the Teen Bash event,” said Maura McCauley, acting commissioner of the Chicago Department of Family and Support Services. “We are committed to providing safe spaces and resources for young people, and this is going to be a fantastic time for Chicago’s youth.”
Each year, the Teen Bash has grown significantly. In 2022 and 2023, the attendance was roughly 500 and 700 teens respectively. Last year, the event welcomed over 1,200 attendees and the City anticipates between 1,000 to 1,500 attendees at this year’s celebration. There will be resource connections for summer youth jobs, post-secondary pathways, and year-round programming for young people in Chicago.
This year’s event will also feature giveaways including Chicago Fire Tickets, Chicago Sky tickets, NASCAR Street Race tickets, and Lollapalooza passes.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday, March 29, from 12–4 PM at Navy Pier’s Aon Ballroom.
