Pastor Olivia Johnson of Generational Blessings Family Worship Center, located inChicago Heights, Illinois, will be celebrating 25 years in the pastorate on Sunday, March 31, 2019.
Answering God’s call, her pastoral journey began in the year of 1990 when she co-founded Strong Tower Fellowship Church, ministering to the unchurched. After serving 11 years, Pastor Johnson moved forward and, at the leading of the Lord, founded her second church, Generational Blessings Family Worship Center in March, 2005, a nondenominational, multicultural church whose mission is to reach the lost and help Believers discover and fulfill God’s purpose for their lives.
Pastor Johnson believes planting churches is her apostolic calling and looks forward to developing more qualified leaders and ministers to assist in the establishment of more churches to ensure the Gospel of Jesus Christ is published throughout the earth before Jesus Christ returns.
When asked by young leaders, what has been her staying ability as a pastor when so many are leaving ministry for other professions almost daily because of the hardness thereof and the tremendous sacrifice no one sees, Pastor Johnson’s response is: “Knowing my calling is unto Christ, not unto life’s circumstances. Thus, because circumstances fluctuate, I focus not on the difficulty of my assignment but on completing my assignment and the fact that on the other side of every ‘low’ point is a ‘high’ peak. And because God is always with me, I cannot fail.”
If asked, what does the future hold, her answer would be: “As many of my colleagues are retiring, I am just getting started.”
