Shonda Rhimes and Chicago’s Luvvie Ajayi to bring ‘I’m Judging You’ to TV

By ebony.com

If you follow Awesomely Luvvie, the popular blog from writer and cultural critic Luvvie Ajayi, then you know she loves Scandal. Her epic recaps helped to introduce her to a whole new set of fans, and caught the eye of series creator Shonda Rhimes. Now, after dropping a best selling book last year, Ajayi and Rhimes are teaming up on a project of their own.

Shondaland rules Thursday nights on ABC with hit series like Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away With Murder, but recently the company started making a concerted effort to expand into the exciting cable space.

To that end, Rhimes’ production company has acquired the rights to Ajayi’s best selling book, I’m Judging You: The Do Better Manual. The book features hilarious and poigant essays on everything from race and politics to pop culture.

Needless to say, Ajayi (and her legion of fans) are psyched about the news.

There’s no news yet on when fans can expect to see I’m Judging You on screen, but Ajayi remarked on Facebook that she doesn’t “even have the words to say how geeked I am.”

Something tells us the writer known for making you laugh and think won’t be bereft of words for very long.
