KEVIN HART – WHAT NOW? Is a Stress Reliever

By Bonnie DeShong

The night I went to see Kevin Hart’s new live comedy concert film What Now I was at the end of a very stressful, messed up day. All I wanted to do was go home and get under the bed covers. I couldn’t do that because I had made the commitment to see the screening of the film. I am so happy I did.

About 20 minutes before the actual film begins, what I thought was going to be previews turned out to be a mini-film starring Kevin Hart as Agent 54, a James Bond type character; Haley Berry as his girl Friday, Don Cheadle as Don Cheadle, and many other great cameo appearances. The audience couldn’t believe they were seeing these top stars acting in a skit like this. This little film is a good lead into the comedy concert. We were already laughing and I was beginning to feel my shoulders relax a little.

The main event begins and Kevin pops up out of the stage in the Lincoln Financial Field in his hometown of Philadelphia to a record breaking crowd of 53,000 people. For the next hour and 20 minutes Kevin walks the stage, sits on a huge toilet seat, proclaims that the story he is about to tell is a “True Story,” and has all the ladies saying “Orangutan, really?” Once you see it you will understand.

Most of his jokes hit the mark; some don’t but his delivery is hilarious. I love it when a comedian laughs at his own jokes and it really is funny.

What Now is not for children. It is strictly an adult film.

By the end of the film I had laughed at Kevin Hart and the people around me who were laughing at Kevin Hart. I left the theater relaxed and in a good mood. The evening was well worth it.

SPEND THE MONEY and see KEVIN HART: WHAT NOW? in the theater. It is worth the price of admission, popcorn, and drink.

Until next time keep your EYE to the sky!
