Samuel Love, the 12-year-old, 6th Grade Murray Language Academy Student, to hold big send off Friday at his school then leave for South Carolina to distribute toys

Samuel Love, 12, a 6th Grade Murray Language Academy student, is holding a 9 a.m. press conference Friday, December 18, 2015, at Murray Language Academy, 5335 South Kenwood, Chicago, IL.

It’s his last toy drive ending in a big send off just before leaving to South Carolina where he will bring thousands of toys and gift cards he has collected for children impacted by floods and hurricanes.

Samuel will also thank all of those who donated toys to his Christmas disaster drive. His goal was to collect 10,000 toys and gift cards for his fourth annual disaster Christmas toy giveaway which also included 50 students from Robbins, Illinois, headed by Mayor Tyrone Ward, one of America’s poorest cities.

“I am so very grateful to everyone who donated toys and gift cards for this year’s toy drive,” said Samuel Love. “It makes me very happy to help bring a smile to a child who has witnessed so much disaster and who lost everything they had to floods or hurricanes. This is my way of bringing a little holiday cheer during their tough times and to say thank you for allowing me into their lives by shining a bright light in some dark places.
